3. Initial Cost Estimate and Timeline
After this initial meeting, we can usually give you a ballpark cost for the home remodeling and home additions, and the approximate time of the construction. This is a very important part of the design process and in determining the scope of the project. Before you incur the expense of an architect, if needed, you want to know if it is structurally and financially feasible.

4. Design
After you have reviewed the information so far, we discuss the details of the project. For projects such as kitchen or bathroom remodeling, at this point we can generate a cost quotation accompanied by a detailed specification list. This quotation can include an allowance for kitchen cabinets and countertops, or if our kitchen designer has been involved, we will include the kitchen plan and exact cost of the cabinet layout.

For other projects, we may ask our architect to look at the project with us. In this case, he will come to your home with us, listen to your ideas, and suggest some of his own. The architect will give you a proposal, broken down into the cost of preliminary drawings and the cost of the working drawings. The contract for architectural services can be between yourself and the architect. If you already have an architect, we would be glad to work with him.

5. Working Plans:
After accepting the proposal, the architect will generate preliminary drawings. A couple meetings may be needed to finalize the preliminary drawings. Before the architect is requested to finish the working drawings, A.A. Allied can estimate the project costs. At this point, after you are satisfied with the project and design, the working plans will be generated for the home remodeling or home additions.

6. Cost Quotation:
A.A. Allied then uses the working drawings to generate a cost quotation accompanied by a detailed specification list.

Contract:
After the cost and work specifications are approved, a contract is generated and a start date is finalized.

Please note that every home remodeling project is different, and depending on your preference and your situation, your project may involve a different sequence than above. Once the contract is signed, the fun begins. We will try to make the selection process as painless as possible for you. Our professional team of experts will be able to guide you and answer your questions. You will receive a Selection Sheet summarizing everything that you need to select. It lists: the item you are selecting, the dollar allowance amount, our recommended business suppliers, their address, expert contact person, and phone number.

1. We discuss the project briefly over the phone and answer any questions you may have.

2. Feasibility Meeting:
A visit to your home is arranged. Depending on the complexity, we may bring our architect with us. If you are interested in remodeling your kitchen for example, an architect is not needed, but our kitchen designer would get involved in the 4th step. We want to find out which parts of the home you want to change, how you are using the various rooms now, and get an overall picture of what you are trying to accomplish. We provide some design ideas at this point and take a first step to formulate what is needed to achieve your goals.
